I have worked with several different test prep companies for different exams over the years. Excel College Prep was by far the most helpful. Clear instructions are a must! Excel provided me the clearest understanding of how to attack the exam to the best of my ability by going over every detail possible regarding how to raise my score. My tutor was a great person who was easy to work with, and I I was completely comfortable asking her questions and going over my problem areas. I would recommend the services of Excel College Prep to anyone. They will teach you how to make the most of your existing strengths while boosting your abilities overall. My score improved drastically with Excel's help and I got into Yale- my dream school! I know my tutor and Excel College Prep helped me to reach my goal!

Our tutor came highly recommended to me by two different students and their parents. As soon as I spoke with her I knew she was a good fit for my daughter. She was accommodating and flexible with her schedule, even willing to come to our house. Once she began working with our daughter I could see a change in her confidence – our tutor was clear and straightforward while being warm and friendly. Our daughter always looked forward to her meetings with her tutor – never dreading it as teenagers often do. Testing is not my daughter’s forte - always an average standardized test taker she scored well above average on her first SAT – a huge improvement over her PSAT. Our daughter walked out of her test with confidence and I attribute that to her tutor. We will be using her for the ACT and SAT Subject Tests and again will use her for our daughter’s second round of testing.

Excel helped me improve my score by hundreds of points from my first practice test to my highest SAT score by reviewing the test with me and helping me to practice the types of questions I eventually saw on the test. I did not need help with the vocabulary so we spent little time on it and moved on to areas I did need to review. I credit the hours I spent with my tutor with helping me become a National Merit Finalist and helping me attend a top university on a full tuition merit scholarship. |

What I found most valuable was that my daughter was able to focus the time she spent studying on exactly what she needed to work on, versus sitting in a class with other kids and working on what they needed to improve on. It saved us time and money to work with an Excel College Prep instructor. |

Working with Excel was not only educational and informational, but it was also a really fun and entertaining way to learn. Each session is never the same and my tutor's sarcasm and wit made the SAT material easier to remember and made the test not seem like such a monster. She did a great job at tailoring my tutoring to focus on the subjects I needed the most help on, reading and grammar, but never forgot to throw in some math just for fun. Over a very short 8 months my SAT score improved almost 400 points and allowed me to get into my top choice university. Not to mention that I’ve never had a tutor that always had gummi bears or Cheese It’s in her bag. It was truly a pleasure working with her. |

My SAT scores improved drastically with the help of Excel! My biggest problem with testing has always been timing - not only with the SAT but for regular tests in school. Excel taught me many techniques to manage my time for the SAT that I have applied to taking tests at school as well. I was able to enhance my strengths in the writing section, but more importantly I was able to improve my weaknesses, specifically with vocabulary. Excel was especially helpful to me because I could get the SAT help I needed without attending the larger SAT preparation classes that I know I would not have excelled in. Excel has played a great part in relieving some of the stress of the college application process by helping me achieve the SAT scores I needed! |

In Junior year I was recommended to my tutor by a friend and it was a great move for me. She was very helpful, and her teaching techniques were very easy to remember. She simplified the most difficult math questions on the SAT and she provided useful tips for the Critical Reading section. Where I showed the most improvement, however, was on the Writing portion of the SAT. She helped me to improve my Writing section alone by 70 points! With my tutor's help, I was able to achieve the SAT score I wanted, and I was able to meet and excel beyond the levels required by the colleges I applied to. Thanks! |

I have always wanted to go to USC. I knew that a huge part of the admission process was getting a high score on my SAT. Choosing Lauren, who happened to be a SC Alum, as my tutor turned out to be one of the most important decisions in the whole college admissions process. Lauren provided me with all the practice I needed for the test, from the occasional Sunday morning mock tests to grammar worksheets. Despite all the hard work we always were able to talk Lakers basketball, college football, and anything else that was happening at the time. After my second official test, I ended up getting a 2090. I also got into my dream school, and will be a USC Trojan next year. Thanks for everything Lauren. |

Excel was recommended by our college counselor, and our tutor stayed with us for a while because when our daughter was done preparing, she started working with our son. When our daughter started preparing we had signed her up to different classes offered by our school, and by a well-known company in the area. Her biggest improvement came after she had closely worked with Excel. With our son, we immediately started working with Excel. He achieved his improvement much quicker, without spending all the time and money on the large classroom forum, and worked a whole lot better one-on-one. Excel was the best investment we had made when it came to test preparation. Our tutor was very organized when it came to knowing what each child’s needs were, and knew exactly how to work with each one of them, since they are so different. |
